I love this one, partly because it the 2 yarns really work together.

This was fun to do too, yet another technique I hadn't done before

On the second round where you need to put 2 stitches in each stitch, you alternate between the 2 yarns!

Looks great.

World Wide Crochet & Knit in Public Day

Join us June 11 10am-2pm at the Shoreline Library for:
World Wide Crochet & Knit in public day!!

Bring your yarn craft projects, any snacks or beverages you would like .

The Library is located at 345 NE 175th St, Shoreline.

If there weather is good we may enjoy the sun from the library benches and other outfdoor seating areas. If not maybe we'll hang in the library or in the meeting room.

It is also Internation Yarn Bombing day so we will be decorating one of the trees outside, so if you have some things that would fit around the trunk or branches you might want to bring that. I'll try and get some measurements on here later.

This is a great book if you're learning to knit or want to stretch your wings on knitting, before each knitting project it teaches you the skills you'll need to do the project. The crochet section is small (57 pages out of 297 pages) almost to the point of why did they bother. It has great pictures. If you're a crochet beginner use this book, but if you're not their are only 2 projects, and some really basic stitches.

Now this book should have been named FUN and Funky Crochet,it's way funkier than the book titled that. This book like most crochet books has a "how to crochet" section. It has ideas from Greeting Cards to clothing embellishments to scarves.

PATTERN: Double Crochet the 1st and last few rows, but that is really tight so I'm going to do the majority in Triple Croche

PROJECT NAME: Scarf

YARN: Caron One Pound 100% Acrylic Azure and left over Red Heart yarn, dark green, purple and Monet (varigated)

HOOK SIZE: K

MADE IN MARCH 2008

GENERAL NOTES: Another scarf for Warm for Winter. Pattern was taken from a Joann pattern flyer Crochet Pocket Blankie, which is worked in squares, instead of making squares I used the pattern and just kept going until it was 60" long.

YARN:Sensations Rainbow Classic Yarn- Bright Multi Acrylic

HOOK SIZE: E

DATE STARTED: 3.9.2008

DATE FINISHED: 3.9.2008

GENERAL NOTES: I needed a case for my new Zen so I made one up. 11 single crochets across until it fit lengthwise across the Zen on both sides, single crochet around the edge twice, decreased across one of the short ends, chain 50 for a tie, attach on the other edge of the decrease and chain 50. Slip stitch the edges to make an 'envelope'.

Some of the yarn is from Thrift Stores, other on sale.

The BOUCLE' was bought at the DOLLAR STORE!!!!! We should have bought it all, but at the time we didn't realize it was usually sold for around $6 a skein.

The scarves will be donated to the Interfaith Council for the homeless.
