PROJECT NAME: Lacy Shell Scarf
YARN: 100% Rayon Lavender
HOOK SIZE: E ? It doesn't have letter, it's smaller than an F
MADE IN Sep 2008
GENERAL NOTES: I got this yarn at the Knit and Crochet show in Portland and thought it would make a lovely scarf for_________ so I bought it. I may even have enough for another scarf!

I kind of knew the look I wantedfor the scarf, so I did a search for Lacy Shell Crochet Pattern and came up with this site http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa031106.htm. I liked the look of that and tried it but couldn't get it to come out right, so I ended up putting 3 double crochets between the shells.

PROJECT NAME: Knit scarf

YARN: Premier Yarns Bouncy 100% Polyamide
NEEDLE SIZE: 14?
PATTERN: Garter Stitch 14 stitches across

MADE IN Sep 2008
GENERAL NOTES: Okay I got this yarn at Big Lots for $1 a skein. It is super super soft (like baby kittens) I've knitted 1 skein so I think there will be enough yarn (I only have 2 skeins). I used really big needles because it's fairly big yarn AND when I used small needles (see Project # ___ )it took forever...of course that was also much smaller yarn.

PROJECT NAME: Knit what I damn well want to scarf.
YARN: TLC Eden Green
NEEDLE SIZE: 10.5
MADE IN Sep 2008
GENERAL NOTES: I bought these lovely wooden needles at the Knit and Crochet Show in Portland . They are 10.5 and not very long, but just right. They feel very nice. I couldn't wait to use them so I broke out the free skein of yarn I got at the show for the Coats and Clarks Ladie who were teaching knitting and crochet and just started going, first I did a bit of a basket weave, then some stockinette stitch and making shapes out of it, some ribbing... maybe I should see if I remember how to do a cable.

MATERIAL: Scratch paper (for card stock back ground and words cut from the back) obsolete stickers, Extra Fine Brown Sharpie, Post it Flag, Fine Silver Sharpie, glue stick, orange and purple paper tape.

DATE: June 23& 24, 2008

GENERAL NOTES: A new book arrived at the library 1,000 artist trading cards : innovative and inspired mixed media ATCs by Patricia Bolton. I hadn't heard of ATC's before, but having a collection of baseball cards, and a liking for paper crafts, I was interested! I also told a co worker about this and she too was interested and requested the book. So while I was bored one day (not at work of course), I put together this card and sent it to my co-worker.

PROJECT NAME: Cozy Crocheted Capelet

YARN: Sensations Rainbow Classic Yarn- Bright Multi

HOOK SIZE: ? I don't remember probably what ever the pattern called for.(I guess I'm going to have to be better at this if I'm going to blog about it!!)

MADE IN MAY 2008

GENERAL NOTES: Darlene made me a capelet from a pattern she found on Joann's website and I thought it would be good for my friend Gayle who was going through Chemo. I've worn mine a lot with the chilly spring we've had plus while I was donating platelets.
This really was a fun project, easy to do, I really like the Sensations Rainbow yarn, it's pretty and fuzzy and looks nice. It's available in lots of varigated colors.
Darlene made mine out of Homespun, which is very soft not quite as easy to work with, but I don't mind it.

PROJECT NAME: Hat with Pigtails

SOURCE: Various Patterns and trial and error

YARN: Patons Canadiana 100% Acrylic Ombre Bright Rainbow Colors
HOOK SIZE: G

DATE STARTED: 3/4/2008

DATE FINISHED: 3/6/2008

GENERAL NOTES: This yarn was also in a bag from the Forest Grove Goodwill. Originally I was going to make the hat the same as the Blue Hat in Project Log 1, but I woke up the next morning when it was nearly done and went AHA it needs Pigtails. I couldn't find my Cool Crochet Hats book to look up how to do the ear flaps and I was in too big of a hurry to see how it was going to turn out (patience and housekeeping not my strong points).

Project Log 1

PROJECT NAME: Hat

SOURCE: Part from Cool Crochet Hats by Linda Kopp and part Lily Sugar and Spice Cool Cap a free flyer I picked up at Pacific Fabrics

YARN: Sirdar Kool Kidz Chunky 100 g (I think it's English). It is light blue with pink, yellow and blue thread wound on the yarn with occasional chunks of it. 93% Acrylic 7% Polyester

HOOK SIZE: G

DATE STARTED: 3/1/2008

DATE FINISHED: 3/2/2008

NOTES: This Yarn was in a bag of yarn purchased at the Goodwill in Forest Grove Oregon, the bag was $4.99. The sticker on the skein said $9.95, looked like an unused skein.

The basic pattern I've been using is the Watchcap from the Cool Crochet Hats. Though I used single crochet and no ribbing. The pattern from Lily after a few rounds only increases every other round until the crown is finished. It gives a less abrupt downward slope.
